Six pieces of the 200 liter drum in the rendition that SX-Art designates as type 1. It is not a kit or part of a vehicle, but a standalone prop for a scene. The manufacturer makes the drum of the same volume in three types; how the individual variants differ in shape is shown on the box of each set.
Since the middle of the last century the 200 liter steel drum has become the basic unit for transporting fuel, oils and lubricants, and it still serves in that role today. A cylinder with circumferential rolling hoops can be rolled on its edge, tipped over, stood on top of another and stacked on a pallet, which has made it a container you will find at airfields, workshops, fueling points and building sites. With one set the modeler thus serves a military and a civilian scene alike.
Drums look best when each one looks different. Leave one in a rich factory color, a second bleached by the sun, a third dusty and a fourth with a rubbed stripe where it was rolled along concrete. Bring out the rolling hoops with a thin wash and darken the top end with the caps instead, because it is exactly there that dirt and traces of pouring are held. Alternate standing and lying pieces; a row of cylinders all facing the same way looks unnatural.
