1:35 Builders set 4 (6 fig.)

1:35 Construction workers, set 4 (SX-Art)

The fourth part of the line of construction worker figures in 1:35 scale, with six pieces. The line is built so that the individual sets can be assembled into a larger scene in which the figures do not repeat. The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted.

What makes a building site scene credible

A building site is a mess, and it is precisely the mess that gives it away. Tools put down, material unwrapped, a can on the formwork, somebody who is not working at the moment. The figures alone will not arrange that, but they give the scene people around whom such a mess can be laid out. Without figures even a carefully built house looks like an architectural model rather than a scene from life.

Building and painting tips

Wash the figures in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry. Cut the remnants left from production away with a fresh blade, level the area off and protect your breathing while sanding. Paint the work clothing in muted shades and add a few saturated elements to it. Dust on the knees, the sleeves and the boots turns a figure into a worker: nobody on a building site has clean clothes. Try the figures out dry in the intended scene beforehand.
