1:35 Country furniture

Country furniture 1:35

A set of furniture in a rustic form in 1:35 scale, meant for interiors in dioramas. Furniture is the thing a diorama builder most often underrates: they build a ruined living room with a beautifully opened wall and then find that the room is empty and the whole scene looks like a stage set. A few pieces of furnishing in the right places turn a space into a place where somebody lived at once.

Use

• interiors of living rooms and farm buildings
• ruined buildings with a wall opened up
• furniture carried out into a yard and into the rubble
• rounding out a scene around figures

Building and painting tips

First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water so that traces of mold release agent disappear. Cut off the casting blocks and level the surfaces; sand with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate. Lay down a primer before painting. Country furniture suits being painted a little differently piece by piece: in an ordinary household the furnishings never came from one workshop or from one year. Build wood on a base tone with thin streaks along the grain and pick the joints out with a dark seeping coat.
