This photo-etched set of thin brass is meant as an accessory for the plastic kit of the American DUKW amphibious truck in 1:35 scale. It is not a model but a set of fine metal parts, which will replace coarser plastic features and add fidelity.
On amphibious vehicles, photo-etched sets usually make the railings, the grilles, the fenders, the brackets and tie-down loops, the screens, the guards and the small deck fittings more precise. It is exactly these thin features that make a great difference close up, and plastic cannot render them finely enough.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp knife on a firm surface and make the bends along the etched grooves. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with epoxy. Degrease the metal before painting and lay down a base coat of primer. On an amphibian, water and salt effects on the lower part of the hull stand out.
This is an accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
