A figure of an infantryman in a marching pose, 1:35 scale is made by Dynamo-Models and carries the sequence number two in its designation. It captures the figure at a moment of movement, with equipment on the body and a leg extended in stride. The number gives the position within a numbered marching line from which a longer formation can be put together.
A marching pose is rewarding for a diorama: the figure has a clear direction of movement, so it determines on its own where the viewer will look. It works well along a field track, by a low wall or beside a standing vehicle, where the contrast of movement and stillness brings a scene to life. As a single figure it fits even into a vignette a few centimeters across, where a stretch of path, a tuft of grass and one striking object in the background are enough.
It is a good idea to rinse and degrease the surface before work, then to apply a thin primer from a spray can or an airbrush. Build the clothing from a darker tone toward a lighter one, bring the hollows of the folds out with a dark glaze and the edges, by contrast, with a dry brush. Leave the face and the hands until the very end; flesh tones take only thin layers and a heavy coat will clog the fine features of a face.
