A vacuum-formed clear canopy for a model of the Me 262 B-1a in 1:72 scale, cut for the kit from Revell.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Me 262 is a German twin-engine jet fighter from the end of the Second World War, the first of its kind to be put into service in larger numbers. The B-1a version is the two-seat trainer, so it has a lengthened cockpit with two seats one behind the other and a canopy divided accordingly. It is precisely the canopy that is the most conspicuous transparent part of a model, and its thickness decides how cleanly the inside can be seen.
The set brings a clear canopy made by vacuum forming, as the product name itself states. Such a part is substantially thinner than the injected canopy from the kit, distorts the view inside less and stands being displayed open better. It is cut for the Revell kit in 1:72 scale.
Cut the part out with a small margin and sand the edge down gradually on abrasive paper laid flat, until it seats exactly on the outline of the fuselage. Try the fit often and rather in small steps, because material taken away cannot be put back. Bond with PVA glue or a modeling clear glue that will not fog a transparent surface; super glue does not suit here. Mask and spray the frames before the canopy goes onto the model, and lift the mask once the paint has dried.
This is an accessory set for a build. The kit of the model, paints, masks and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
