Academy 1:35 German Panther Ausf. G is an injection-molded plastic kit of the German medium tank from the late production series, supplemented with a photo-etched fret.

A plastic kit of the German Pz.Kpfw.V Panther medium tank in the Ausf.G version in 1:35 scale from Academy. It is a new mold that captures the form of the vehicle from the late production series, that is, with the modified shape of the gun mantlet and simplified hull detail. Besides the plastic sprues the box also holds a photo-etched fret and decals.
The Ausf.G version went into production in 1944 and gathered up the changes arising from combat experience. The side armor of the hull received a simpler shape without the cutout for the driver's vision flap, which was replaced by a periscope in the roof. Late vehicles had a wedge welded to the lower edge of the gun mantlet, meant to prevent a round from deflecting into the hull roof. The main armament was a 75 millimeter gun with a long barrel, and the markedly sloped frontal armor and the interleaved road wheels were typical. The Panther was among the technically most complex German tanks of its day, and its late series were marked by simplified production.
Finish the running gear and the inside of the hull first, because once it is closed you cannot reach many of the parts. It is practical to paint the wheels and fit them only once the hull has been sprayed. Glue the photo-etched parts with super glue and use thin cement on the plastic. After the base camouflage coat let the model dry out, and only then apply the decals onto a gloss surface. Build the weathering up in layers: a dark wash into the recesses and seams, a dry brush on the edges and finally pigments for mud and dust effects around the running gear and the fenders.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
