Resin wheels with deformation under load for a model of the JGSDF Type 16 wheeled combat vehicle in 1:35 scale from E.T. Model. They replace the wheels from the plastic kit and give the model the impression of real weight.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory set of resin wheels for a model of the Japanese Type 16 wheeled combat vehicle. It is not a kit of the vehicle but replacement parts: the wheels are cast with what is called deformation under load, that is with the tire flattened where it meets the road. The set contains eight wheels, so a complete set of tires for the vehicle.
The Type 16 Maneuver Combat Vehicle is a Japanese wheeled combat vehicle with an 8x8 layout, taken into service with the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force from 2016. It carries a 105 mm gun in a rotating turret and is conceived as rapidly deployable fire support that can also be moved by air. On the real machine the great weight of the vehicle shows most on the tires, and that is exactly what this set addresses.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent, so that the mold release residue is removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife, true the surface up and use respiratory protection while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with a cyanoacrylate. Apply a primer before painting. A tire looks more faithful in a dark gray shade than in pure black, and drybrushing or dust pigment sits well on it. Fit the wheels so that the flattened part really does meet the surface, otherwise the effect works the other way around and looks unnatural.
This is an accessory set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
