The photo-etched set of the Czech maker Eduard is meant to refine and complete the details of a plastic model of the American M48A3 Patton tank in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of the tank but a set of photo-etched parts. The metal parts replace coarser plastic features and add details of the exterior that injection-molded plastic cannot manage in a matching fineness.
The M48 Patton is an American medium, and later main, battle tank developed after the Second World War. The M48A3 version was given a diesel engine and a series of modifications, and it became famous for its service in the Vietnam War. The vehicle was armed with a gun of 90 mm caliber and had a characteristic rounded cast turret and hull.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife, bend them on a bending tool and glue them with super glue. Degrease the metal surfaces before painting and lay down a base coat of primer. Apply dust and mud effects with washes and pigments only once the vehicle is finished.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a model of the tank. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
