1:35 Paint Masks For Mil MI-24V Hind Attack Helicopter Canopy And Wheels

The real subject

The Mi-24 is a Soviet attack helicopter that joins attack qualities with room for several soldiers in the rear cabin. It carries stub wings with hardpoints for armament and has a striking two-seat working position, where the weapons operator sits ahead of the pilot, each under a canopy of his own. The Mi-24V version is among the most widespread and it is the one a modeler meets most often in the colors of a number of armies.

What the set contains

The package contains cut masks for the glazing of the cockpit and for the wheels of the landing gear in 1:35 scale. The masks follow the shape of the frames of the glazing, so not even a narrow pillar escapes you while masking by hand, and on the wheels they separate the rim from the tire. You can thus spray the wheels in one go and do not have to come back to outline the rim with a brush.

Building and painting tips

Wash the clear parts in lukewarm water before sticking the masks on and let them dry, as fingerprints under a mask do more damage than grains of dust. Press the masks down and run a toothpick along the edge so that it does not stand off anywhere. Spray the frames of the glazing first in the interior shade and only then in the exterior finish, and once it has dried take the mask off. On the wheels spray the color of the tire and remove the mask as soon as the coat is dry to the touch.

Who it is for

The set suits anyone who does not want to fight the glazing and the wheels with cut strips of tape, and it pays off when you are building several machines one after another and want the frames equally crisp on all of them. The contents are masks only; the model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
