A set of masks for painting the road wheels of the German Panther tank in 1:35 scale, cut for kits from MENG. Because masks are designed for one specific wheel, a similar set for the Panther from Tamiya also exists. Pick the one that matches your kit, otherwise the wheel will not drop into the cutout.
The Panther was among the most capable tanks of the Second World War. A long barrel with a high muzzle velocity, sloped frontal armor and interleaved road wheels made it a machine that defended and attacked equally well, but it was demanding to maintain and thirsty for fuel. The interleaved running gear gave a smooth ride, but it clogged with mud and snow in winter.
The wheel is placed in the cutout in the flexible mask, which covers the rubber tire band and exposes the disc. Paint the tire band first, then fit the mask and spray over the disc. Do not stretch the mask, press it down with a pointed wooden stick once it is seated and spray perpendicular to the surface in thin coats. According to the manufacturer the masks can be used again after cleaning.
