A sheet of decals in 1:35 scale for the Russian armored equipment from the conflict in South Ossetia in 2008. The first sheet on this theme.
Responsibility details are not available.
The sheet in 1:35 scale opens a range devoted to the conflict in South Ossetia in 2008 and concentrates on Russian armored vehicles. The fighting lasted only a few days, yet a varied mixture of equipment took part in it, from tanks through infantry fighting vehicles to armored personnel carriers and lighter wheeled machines.
Both sides of the conflict used equipment of Soviet design, so the machines often differed from one another mainly in their coat and their markings. For a model that means it is precisely the decals that decide whether a scene comes across as credible. The sheet offers elements for several different vehicles; their breakdown and exact placing on a model are given in the instructions supplied with the sheet.
Cut an element out close to the printing and soak it for a few seconds in lukewarm water. As soon as it begins to slide freely over the backing paper, transfer it onto a smooth, glossy and degreased surface. Press the excess water out with a soft cloth, help matters with a softener in the broken places, and once it has dried go over the area with varnish, so that the edges of the carrier film disappear.
The sheet will be used by builders of contemporary ground equipment in 1:35 scale and by those putting together a diorama from a short but technically varied conflict. A model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
