Series 4 is recognized by the curved lengthened crane boom and the reworked details of the cab and the tanks.
The Ward LaFrance M1 was an American heavy recovery vehicle 6x6 of the Second World War period, intended for recovering and towing damaged tanks and vehicles right in the field. It was built in several series; series 4 of 1943 brought a lengthened crane boom, larger tank caps and reworked instruments. The vehicle carried a slewing crane and winches for heavy work on the battlefield.
Work in subassemblies; finish the cab interior and the engine compartment before closing them up. Apply a primer and spray with an airbrush. You will bring the olive green paint to life with washes into the recesses, dust pigments and greasy effects on the crane, the chains and the working surfaces - recovery vehicles used to be properly dirty. Bond the photo-etched and 3D-printed parts with super glue.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
