1:35 M2 and M3 — photo-etched engine deck is a small add-on set for a plastic kit you already own, not a standalone model. It replaces the molded mesh and louvers with thin metal parts and is cut for the Dragon kit.

This small detail set from Voyager Model replaces the engine deck area and its cooling mesh on a plastic model of the American M2 and M3 armored family. It is not a kit but a targeted accessory for the Dragon model.
The American M2 and M3 armored family of the Second World War period shares a number of design features, among them the layout of the engine section. Cooling was handled by sheet-metal covers with louvers and mesh, which in injection-molded plastic can be imitated only as shallow engraving or a solid molded part. On a model it is one of the places where plastic gives itself away, because a real mesh is see-through and is a few tenths of a millimeter thick.
A photo-etched mesh works only when there is darkness behind it. So before fitting, spray the surface under the mesh with flat black or a very dark color and glue the mesh on only once the base is dry; otherwise light plastic shows through it and the effect disappears. Never flood a mesh with glue; a tiny drop of thin cyanoacrylate at the edge is enough. When painting, work with heavily thinned paint and apply it in several misty coats, so that the openings of the mesh do not fill in. At the end it pays to go lightly over the raised edges with a dry brush in a steel shade, which emphasizes the metallic character of the part.
This is an add-on set for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
