An extensive collection of photo-etched parts for the aircraft carrier USS Gambier Bay CVE-73 in 1:350 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, supplied as a Big Set - a combination of several photo-etched sets in one package. It is not a ship model but a detail accessory for the plastic kit from Hasegawa, which has to be owned separately.
The photo-etched parts replace and supplement the fine features that plastic cannot manage - railings, radars, ladders, deck equipment and further details. The model thus gains a delicacy and a three-dimensional quality close to the real ship.
Photo-etched parts are separated with a sharp knife on a hard surface and bent precisely (ideally with a photo-etch bender). They are bonded with super glue or with a special glue for photo-etch. Follow the drawing and fit the details as the building of the ship proceeds.
This is a detail accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit has to be obtained separately; paints and glue are not included in the package.
