A color detail set for the pilot's compartment of a model of the single-seat Gripen in 1:48 scale. According to the name it is prepared for the early form of the cockpit, which differed from the later machines in the arrangement of the displays and controls. The items are glued to the parts of the Italeri kit and replace the laborious coloring of panels with a brush.
The JAS 39 Gripen is a Swedish single-engined multi-role aircraft, and the abbreviation in its designation sums up three roles: fighter, attack and reconnaissance. The A version was the first production single-seat form of the machine and entered service in the 1990s. Aerodynamics with a movable canard, together with a deliberately unstable layout and fly-by-wire controls, gave the aircraft great agility, while the machine kept its demands for a short runway and simple servicing in the field. The early examples went through a number of modifications during their service, so the form of their cockpit changed over time.
Before applying the items, remove any mold release residue and sanded edges from the parts. If the dials are engraved deeply into the plastic, fill and smooth the surface. The items seat well when you dampen them slightly as you lay them down and press them with absorbent paper. Finish the ejection seat separately and set it into the cockpit only at the end.
The set cannot be used without a base kit, and the model is not in the package.
