Resin intake and exhaust covers for the A-37 Dragonfly in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost brand. An accessory for a model standing on the ground, not an aircraft kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of resin covers of the kind fitted on the real aircraft over the air intakes and other openings, so that foreign objects cannot get into the engine. On an A-37 model in 1:48 scale they serve as a striking accessory for a scene with a parked machine. The package contains these covers alone, not the aircraft.
The A-37 Dragonfly was a small twin-engine jet aircraft derived from a trainer and adapted for light attack tasks. Its air intakes are set at the wing root and were covered when the aircraft stood on the ground, which is ordinary practice with jet equipment. The covers tend to be in a striking color so that they are not forgotten before takeoff.
The covers are glued onto a finished model, so paint them separately and attach them to the fuselage at the end. After washing them free of mold release agent and applying a primer, a deep warning color is used, most often red, which over a light base needs two or three thin coats. Pick the straps and loops out with a dark wash. Glue them with a small spot of cyanoacrylate, so that the covers can be taken off again without damaging the finish. A model with the covers fitted also goes well with a figure of ground crew or a simple diorama.
This is an accessory for a build, not a complete model. The basic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
