A photo-etched radiator grille in 1:48 for the model of the BMW 327 car from the Czech maker Hauler. Thin cut-through sheet replaces the plastic part with its merely suggested grille.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small set of photo-etched parts aimed at the single most closely watched place on a model of a passenger car: the radiator grille. The set is cut for a specific Hasegawa kit and replaces its plastic part; the model itself is not in the package. On car models this swap has an above-average effect, because the grille gives the vehicle its expression and a plastic casting with suggested louvers always gives the scale away.
The BMW 327 was a German sports car of the late 1930s, offered as a coupe and as a convertible and powered by an inline six-cylinder engine. It was an elegant, fast and, at the time it appeared, a relatively expensive car, and its characteristic feature is the divided upright radiator grille, still a typical element of the marque's cars today. The cars stayed in service through the war years too, when they served as civilian and official vehicles.
Paint the grille separately from the body and glue it on right at the end, once the paintwork and the polishing are finished. Apply only thin sprayed coats, so that the fine upright louvers do not fill in; brushing thick paint on will reliably destroy the detail. A chrome effect looks best from polishable chrome paints applied over a smooth black gloss base. Paint the area behind the grille matte black, so that the space showing through looks deep. It is bonded with super glue around the edge, in a really small amount; any excess turns white and is unmissable on a glossy body.
This is an accessory for a build. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
