This is a masking set from the Furball Aero-Design brand in 1:48 scale. The stencils are cut from low-tack vinyl film and shaped to fit a model of the F-14 Tomcat carrier fighter. They focus on the canopy and the wheel hubs, and on any further areas that call for sharp masking. It is not a kit but a painting accessory. The outlines of the stencils match the canopy and wheels of the Tamiya kit.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was an American two-seat carrier interceptor with variable wing geometry. It stood out for its long range, powerful radar and long-range missiles; for decades it formed the backbone of the fighter cover of American aircraft carriers.
The vinyl stencils cover the canopy framing and the wheel hubs exactly, so that spraying gives sharp transitions without tracing by hand. The low-tack film holds its shape and leaves no sticky marks when taken off. Degrease the clear parts, press the mask down against the edges of the frames and spray in thin coats.
The set contains masking stencils only. Paints, glue and the model itself are not included in the package.
