It is not a model of an aircraft but a detail accessory: a replacement for the kit nozzles with castings showing fine breakdown of the inner and outer segments, which injection-molded plastic in this scale usually only suggests. The Hornet is an American carrier multi-role aircraft powered by a pair of General Electric F404 engines with afterburners. On a parked machine the nozzles of both engines are usually partly open and form a prominent feature of the rear end — on a model they are therefore among the details a viewer examines first.
Paint the nozzles before gluing them into the fuselage — access to the inner surfaces is then far easier. A combination of metallic shades (titanium, burnt metal, dark bronze) and fine grading of the individual segments works well; a final dark wash will bring the structure out further. Glue the parts with super glue and try the fit in the rear end dry beforehand.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit of the aircraft is not included in the package.
