An accessory set of exhausts for models of the Fairey Firefly Mk.I in 1:48 scale. It replaces the simplified part from the kit with a crisper shape with defined outlets.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Fairey Firefly was a British two-seat carrier aircraft of the Second World War, intended for fighter and reconnaissance duties over the sea. It served with the Fleet Air Arm and, as a carrier machine, had folding wings so that it would fit below the deck of an aircraft carrier. The Mk.I version is the first production form of the type. The exhausts emerge on the sides of the engine cowling and are among the clearly visible places on a finished model, because on the real machine a pronounced scorched stain forms around them and runs back along the side of the fuselage.
These are replacement exhausts for 1:48 scale. The part from the kit tends to be simplified in this place and usually has blanked-off outlets, so emphasizing them with color is difficult. The replacement part has a crisper shape and defined outlets, which can be seen at first glance in a side view.
The parts are not polystyrene, so they are glued with cyanoacrylate, not with cement for plastic models. Cut the excess material off a short way from the part with a sharp blade and carefully sand down the remainder. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold. Try the fit dry first, as the openings in the cowling sometimes need slight adjustment. For color, a dark metallic base works well, with rusty and brown shades over it and finally a light application of gray dust.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
