An MH models 1:48 masking set for spraying the markings of the Heinkel He 111Z-1. An accessory for the kit of the five-engine tug from ICM, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This sheet of pre-cut masks from MH models serves for spraying the markings onto a finished model of the He 111Z-1 from the ICM kit. It is neither a model nor a part of one: it is an aid for the final phase of a build. The make-up of the insignia is not stated here.
The Zwilling was a purpose-built design: two He 111 airframes joined by a new center wing section carrying a fifth engine, intended to tow heavy gliders. Few machines were built, so their markings are interesting for a modeler in their own right and are worth doing carefully.
An insignia sprayed through a mask has the same gloss and the same texture as the surrounding paint. You do not have to deal with softeners, with film shrinking or with silvering on a matte finish. And above all: you can sand, rub and weather it just like the finish, so the markings do not look like a sticker laid on a finished model.
Plan the placement of the insignia dry first and mark it lightly with a pencil or a thin strip of masking tape. Apply the mask onto gloss, dried varnish, seal the edge with the base color and spray in several thin coats. Do not hurry the removal and do not put it off either, because it goes best shortly after the last coat has set.
The masks are cut for the ICM kit in 1:48 scale; please check the match with your model in advance. Paints and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
