This set is a fine photo-etched accessory intended for detailing a model of the Swedish Saab J-35 Draken fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of an airplane but a set of thin metal parts with which you replace or supplement selected plastic parts and thereby increase the realism of the model. Some of the parts tend to be color-printed for a faithful rendering of the instruments. The manufacturer is the Czech firm Eduard, a leading name in the field of photo-etched accessories.
The Saab 35 Draken was a Swedish supersonic fighter with a characteristic double delta wing. It entered service at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s and excelled in high speed, rate of climb and the ability to operate from improvised surfaces. Besides the Swedish Air Force it also served in Finland, Denmark and Austria, and it is one of the icons of European postwar design.
Separate the parts carefully with a sharp knife on a hard surface, and use a bending tool for photo-etched parts or an accurate ruler for the bends. Glue with cyanoacrylate (super glue) or with a slow-setting epoxy. Degrease and paint the unprinted brass parts; the color-printed parts do not have to be painted.
This is a detail accessory, not a model of an airplane. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
