A set of parts for refining the covers of the access hatches on the fuselage and the covers on the wing of the LaGG-3 series 66 fighter in 1:48 scale, prepared for the kit from Zvezda.
Responsibility details are not available.
The LaGG-3 was a Soviet fighter of the Second World War whose airframe was largely wooden. Series 66 belongs to the late production versions, on which production concentrated on cutting weight and on a better view to the rear thanks to a lowered fuselage spine. On the fuselage and on the wing there is a row of covers and hatches, and it is exactly those that give away close up how carefully a model is built.
Parts for rendering the covers of the access hatches and the covers on the wing of the LaGG-3 series 66 in 1:48 scale, prepared for the kit from Zvezda. They replace places a plastic kit deals with in a simplified way or with mere suggested engraving, so that the covers look like separate panels with an edge and depth of their own.
The parts are not polystyrene, cement for plastic has no effect on them, and cyanoacrylate is used. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder carefully. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts so that the paint takes hold. When seating the individual covers and choosing their position, follow the manufacturer's instructions and the documentation for the subject.
For the modeler who is building the LaGG-3 in 1:48 scale and wants the covers on the fuselage and the wing to be legible even after spraying and shading. The work is fine; fine-tipped tweezers, a sharp blade and good lighting all help. The set does not hold a kit, paints or glue, unless stated otherwise.
