A standing female figure in flying kit, the type 1 form, intended for models of the Corsair II in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A female figure standing, dressed in flying kit and conceived as an accessory to a finished model. Type 1 is the first of the positions offered; the second variant has a different stance, so the sets can be combined. The name gives the intended fit for the A-7B, A-7D and A-7E types.
The design of the Corsair II derives from the airframe of the F-8 fighter, shortened and reworked for carrying ordnance instead of for a contest over speed. The result was a machine with great range, which lifted an unusually large load and had navigation equipment remarkably accurate for its day. It served with both the US Air Force and the US Navy, and some of the aircraft later found their way into the inventories of foreign operators, where they flew until the second decade of this century.
On a single figure every inaccuracy stands out, so it pays to work over small areas and let each coat dry. The hair under the helmet, the hem of the gloves or the buckles of the harness will do more than the finest base tone. Leave the light parts of the equipment genuinely light, so that they separate from the coveralls. A final matte coat will even out the sheen and visually suppress any small imperfections.
Paints for the figure are obtained separately.
