1:48 MiG-25, antennas is a small resin set from Quickboost. It replaces the thick plastic antennas of the model with castings that have a more realistic thickness and a crisper shape.

Antennas belong among the parts on which injection-molded plastic runs into its limits. For the mold to open at all and for the part not to crack when it is ejected, it has to be thicker than the real thing. Lumps of plastic then stick out on the model and spoil an otherwise good impression. This resin set offers, for a model of the MiG-25 fighter in 1:48 scale, a replacement in which the ratio of thickness to length is closer to the real subject. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for swapping parts.
The MiG-25 is a large aircraft and in 1:48 scale it makes a sizeable model that is viewed at close range. Thin antennas and sensors on the spine and the fuselage are therefore clearly visible, and a coarse plastic part on them catches the eye immediately. The swap is at the same time a matter of a few minutes and calls for no intervention in the structure of the model.
Working with small resin parts calls for calm and a tidy bench. First wash the castings in soapy water and let them dry. Cut the casting block away in several passes with a sharp knife or a fine razor saw, so as not to put pressure on the thin section. Always set the part down on a light-colored surface so that it does not disappear on you. It is glued with cyanoacrylate, of which a really tiny amount applied with a pin is enough. Fit the antennas at the very end of the build, when the model is already painted and there is no risk of catching them during masking or polishing.
This is an accessory for a build and is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
