Mosquito NF Mk.XII / Mk.XIII with the A.I. Mk.VIII radar nose 1:48 is a resin conversion set from the AML brand with which you can build the night fighter version with a nose radar out of the Mosquito F Mk.II or Mk.V kit from Tamiya.

This set is not a kit on its own, but a resin conversion accessory for the de Havilland Mosquito F Mk.II and Mk.V kits from Tamiya in 1:48 scale. It replaces the original machine-gun nose with the radar nose version that the Mk.XII and Mk.XIII night fighter machines carried with the centimetric A.I. Mk.VIII radar. The maker is the Czech company AML.
The night fighter Mosquitos Mk.XII and Mk.XIII came about by conversion as well as by new production of the wooden airframe, and they carried the radar in the characteristic rounded, so-called thimble nose. They were committed mainly to the defense of the British Isles and to night operations over Europe.
First wash the resin parts in warm water with a little dish soap, to remove any residues of mold release agent. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw or a cutter and sand the surfaces with protection of the airways. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before painting.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The Tamiya base kit, the glue, the paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
