This is an add-on set, not an airplane model. It contains resin parts for refining the powerplant of the twin-boom Lockheed P-38J Lightning fighter in 1:48 scale — the turbocharger covers on the top of the tail booms and corrected shapes for the air intakes.
The resin parts replace the plastic parts of the kit with a more exact shape and a finer surface. On the Lightning the characteristic turbochargers above the booms and the intakes are very much in view, so refining them noticeably lifts the overall impression a model makes.
Wash the parts to remove mold release, cut off the casting blocks and clean them up; bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding resin. You can bring the metal surfaces of the turbines to life with a dark metallic shade and light weathering from burnt exhaust gases.
This is an add-on resin set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
