The pilot's space of the Warhawk with the late type of seat. Eduard Brassin 1:48 P-40E Warhawk cockpit w/ late seat is a resin replacement for the whole cockpit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This variant differs from the basic form of the set in the type of seat: you get the version used on machines produced later. The difference is clearly apparent on a finished model with the canopy open, which is why Eduard offers both forms as separate items. Besides the seat the package brings the frame of the cockpit, the floor, the side panels and the instrument panel.
The P-40E was the first version with an armament of six machine guns in 12.7 mm caliber in the wing and with the Allison V-1710 engine. The machines served with American units in North Africa, in the Aleutians and over the southern Pacific; the British and the Australians knew them under the name Kittyhawk Mk.IA and a considerable delivery went to the Soviet Union as well. The aircraft did not excel at high altitudes, but it stood up to hard handling and was exceptionally resistant to damage.
The inside of the fuselage halves usually has to be thinned, so that the new tub fits in with no pressure. Wash the castings, cut them off the blocks and try the fit dry. Resin stands up to super glue and epoxy alike; for the tiny clasps tweezers with a thin tip are more comfortable.
This item contains the parts of the interior only, not a plastic model of the aircraft.
