P-61 Black Widow antennas in 1:48 scale are resin replacement antennas from Quickboost for a model of this American night fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin accessory from Quickboost brings precisely cast antennas for a model of the American Northrop P-61 Black Widow night fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit, but a small replacement part that swaps the thicker, easily damaged plastic antennas from the box for more slender and more faithful castings.
The P-61 Black Widow was the first American aircraft designed from the outset as a night fighter; the twin-boom machine with two radial engines carried an onboard radar in the nose along with a number of antennas. The protruding antennas are small but conspicuous elements on a model that suffer easily when made of thin plastic. Fine resin castings have faithful proportions and stand up better to close inspection.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent to remove mold release residue. Separate the small antennas carefully from the casting block with a sharp knife and clean them up with respiratory protection. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue and work with tweezers; fit them at the end of the build so that they do not break off while the model is being handled.
The accessory is supplied as a resin replacement part, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
