The word KISTEN means boxes; the set serves for building the stowage boxes and equipment lockers that were carried on the fenders and the sides of the hull on the German Sd.Kfz.251/1 Ausf.C half-track. It is not a model of the vehicle but a photo-etched accessory from which you fold up three-dimensional boxes and liven up both the look of the model and a diorama.
The Sd.Kfz.251 (the Hanomag) was the main German half-track infantry carrier of the Second World War. Crews added boxes and lockers for ammunition, tools and personal equipment in large numbers, so stowage boxes are one of the characteristic features of the real vehicles.
Bend the walls of the boxes to a right angle in a bender and bond them with super glue. Place the finished boxes on the fenders or the sides of the hull, spray them with a primer and lift them with a wash and dry-brushing for a wooden or metal look.
This is a photo-etched accessory, not a complete model. The plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
