This is not a kit but an aftermarket detail set. It contains 3D printed, fully colored interior elements on thin backing decal paper. It fits out the cockpit of a model of the British Spitfire Mk.V fighter in 1:48 scale with a realistic instrument panel, side panels and other cockpit detail, with no slow painting.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V was the most numerously built version of the Spitfire, powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin 45 engine. It went into action from 1941 on most fronts and existed in wing variants with machine guns and with cannon. A number of machines also flew with tropical filters in the Mediterranean and North Africa.
The individual elements are cut from the sheet, soaked in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slid off the backing paper straight onto the cockpit parts. They have no adhesive layer of their own: they hold on a surface coated beforehand with gloss (Future, Klear, Tamiya X-22), and in intricate places a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as their chemicals attack the printed resin.
This is an accessory for a model, not a standalone kit. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
