A resin set from the Brassin range by the Czech manufacturer Eduard capturing the American SUU-14 submunition dispenser in 1:48 scale. The resin castings offer a sharpness of detail injection-molded plastic does not reach: accurate shapes for the tubes, the lugs and the small technical detail. The set is meant to be hung under the wing of a model of a suitable carrier and it is not a stand-alone model of an aircraft.
The SUU-14 was an American external dispenser for unguided submunitions, made up of a cluster of tubes from which small bomblets were ejected in flight. It was used above all in the era of the Vietnam War on attack, observation and training machines committed to close support. On a model it is an unmissable store that gives a machine an authentic combat look.
Start by washing the resin parts in warm soapy water so that any mold release agent is removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a razor saw and sand the marks away; protect your airways when sanding resin. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue, and prime before painting. Olive-finished stores come to life with a fine dry brush and chipped metal on the edges.
This is an add-on set: the model of the aircraft, glue and paints are not included in the package.
