A set of resin exhaust stack bundles made to replace the plastic exhausts on a model of the British Hawker Tempest Mk.II fighter in 1:48 scale. The Tempest Mk.II was powered by the Bristol Centaurus radial engine, whose exhausts have a distinctive layout. This is not a kit but a detail accessory for more experienced modelers.
The cast exhausts have thin edges and hollowed-out (open) outlet openings that plastic cannot offer. They are fitted directly in place of the plastic parts and rank among the most effective small upgrades, since the exhausts are clearly visible on the model and carry a pronounced exhaust-stain patina.
Wash the resin parts free of release agent and remove the casting blocks with a saw or a hobby knife. Glue with cyanoacrylate (super glue). The exhausts stand out best after spraying on metallic and rust shades and highlighting with pigments; it works well to paint them separately and install them at the very end.
