A resin accessory in 1:144 scale representing the underwing cannon of 37 mm caliber for a model of the German Ju 87 dive bomber in its G version. The manufacturer intends the set for kits from the Eduard brand. It is not a kit of the aircraft: the parts replace or complete the armament on a model already bought. In this scale a casting is practically the only way to get a weapon with a recognizable shape onto the wing.
The Ju 87 G version came about by converting the dive bomber into an antitank aircraft: under the wings it received a pair of cannon of 37 mm caliber, with which tanks were attacked from above and from behind, that is where the armor is thinnest. Because of the weight of the weapons the machine was slow and vulnerable, yet remarkable results were achieved with it and it is among the best known forms of the whole type.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent so that the mold release residue disappears. Separate the castings from the casting blocks with a sharp knife; in this scale the parts are very small, so work with tweezers over a tray. They are glued with super glue, that is cyanoacrylate. Apply a primer before painting. When fitting them under the wing, watch that the cannon hang parallel and at the same height; on a small model asymmetry shows even more than on a large one.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted and it is an accessory, not a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
