Hexagon flange bolts 1.5 to 2.5 mm from Decalcas: a set of 240 printed fasteners for detailing car models. An accessory, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A flange bolt has a widened plate under its hexagon head, which spreads the pressure over the part beneath. On real cars bolts like these hold brake calipers, wheel hubs, exhaust brackets and a great many parts in the engine bay. The set brings 240 of them, made by 3D printing from resin with a sharp hexagon and a legible flange rim. It is not a kit but a stock of details for models you are building or improving.
The elements are supplied in five sizes of 48 pieces each: 1.5 mm, 1.75 mm, 2 mm, 2.25 mm and 2.5 mm. The range covers the usual needs of car and motorcycle models in 1:24 scale, where bolt heads are a visible element of the chassis and the engine.
Cut the parts off their support with a sharp scalpel close to the base and level the surface with a fine file. They are glued with super glue, that is cyanoacrylate. The detail is so fine that a heavy coat of primer would clog it: paint with a thin coat. A metallic look stands out over a dark base, and a dark wash then flows nicely into the gap under the flange. Tweezers with fine tips are a necessity when fitting them.
The set is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
