An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale by Trumpeter representing the modern Chinese Z-10G attack helicopter. The model captures the narrow fuselage, the stepped tandem cockpit with sloped sides and the main rotor. Besides the plastic parts the package holds a photo-etched part, masks for the glazing and decals. The large 1:48 scale lets the armament and the broken surface of the machine come into their own.
The Z-10 is the first modern Chinese attack helicopter, built to destroy armored vehicles and to give combat support. It is marked by a narrow fuselage and stepped tandem cockpits with sloped sides, which reduce radar reflectivity. The Z-10G version is an improved variant with better sensors and survivability. The machine carries guided anti-tank missiles, unguided rockets and gun armament.
Use thin modeling cement on the plastic. Mask the cockpit glazing with the enclosed masks. Bond the photo-etched part with super glue. Assemble and paint the external stores and the landing gear before the fuselage is closed. On the main rotor and the blades watch the geometry and keep them in plane; it is a good idea to finish and glue the rotor at the very end of the build. The matte helicopter finish comes into its own with an airbrush and discreet weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
