The Eduard 1:700 Akagi photo-etched set is a brass detail accessory for a model of the Japanese aircraft carrier Akagi. It is a set of etched parts, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard is used to refine a plastic model of the Japanese aircraft carrier Akagi in 1:700 scale. It is not a model or a kit: it is a set of thin brass parts with which you replace coarse plastic elements with more faithful metal ones, namely railings, radars, cranes, ladders and other fine details of the superstructures and the deck.
Akagi was one of the best known aircraft carriers of the Imperial Japanese Navy. She served as the flagship of the strike force during the attack on Pearl Harbor and was sunk during the Battle of Midway in 1942. Her silhouette is among the icons of the naval history of the Second World War.
Separate the brass parts with a sharp knife on a glass mat and make the bends along the etched grooves using a bending tool. Use super glue to bond metal to plastic. Railings and fine parts are best painted after fitting, so that the paint holds. At 1:700 scale, work patiently and under a magnifier.
The accessory is supplied as a set of etched parts, unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
