A wooden deck in 1:700 scale for a model of the Imperial Chinese Navy ironclad Ting Yuan, cut for the S-Model kit with the manufacturer's part number PS70000.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Ting Yuan was one of the ironclads of the Imperial Chinese Navy of the end of the nineteenth century. She was built in Germany and in her day was one of the most powerful units of the whole fleet. Ships of this kind had expansive open decks between the turrets and the superstructures, so the surface of the deck is the largest unbroken area on a finished model and the one the viewer sees first.
A deck sheet of wooden veneer in 1:700 scale, shaped for the particular kit with the manufacturer's part number PS70000. The representation of the planks here is not substituted by printing or by engraving into the plastic but by real wood with its own texture and gaps between the individual strips. The cutouts for the superstructures, the turrets and the deck equipment are prepared in advance, so the sheet is settled onto the model as a whole.
First rid the deck of the kit of burrs and sand any engraving flat, so that the veneer is not lifted anywhere. Try the sheet dry and check that the cutouts sit on the superstructures. Whether the underside carries an adhesive layer is given in the manufacturer's instructions; if not, use a glue suitable for wood and apply it thinly, so that it does not wick into the gaps. Press the veneer down from the center toward the edges, over a soft backing and without bending it over the edges.
The ship kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The extent of the package is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
