This photo-etched set is a detail accessory, not a standalone model. It holds precisely etched brass parts for improving a plastic kit of the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp in 1:700 scale. As a rule it brings fine railings, the safety nets around the deck, the edges of the elevators, radar elements and other details that plastic cannot render faithfully.
USS Wasp (LHD-1) is the lead ship of the class of the same name of American amphibious assault ships. She serves to land the Marine Corps by helicopter, tiltrotor, landing craft and aircraft with vertical or short takeoff. She has an expansive full-length deck resembling a smaller aircraft carrier and a floodable well deck at the stern for landing craft.
Separate the parts from the fret and bend them on a firm surface, best with a photo-etch bending tool. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with epoxy. Paint the railings and nets only once they are glued on, ideally with an airbrush in the shade of the deck and the superstructure.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
