This item is NOT a model of a helicopter but a set of decals in 1:72 scale. The sheet is focused on attack helicopters of the Mi-24 family and its export versions the Mi-25 and Mi-35 in the service of Latin American armed forces. This is precisely the region that decals from the box tend to neglect, even though it offers unusually varied finishes and national insignia that differ markedly from European and Middle Eastern machines. Besides the national insignia and tactical numbers, the sheet also holds technical lettering.
The Mi-24 is a Soviet attack helicopter which, as one of very few, combines heavy armament with room for carrying troops in a rear cabin. The crew seated in tandem under stepped canopies, the short stub wings with pylons and the sturdy structure resistant to fire from the ground are characteristic. The export versions received their own designations — the Mi-25 was based on the earlier variant with a greenhouse canopy, the Mi-35 on the modernized version with separate cockpits. In Latin America the machines appeared with several countries, which took them into service both for the fire support of ground forces and for counter-insurgency and counter-smuggling duties; some of them went through later modernizations. Operation in tropical and mountain environments gave these helicopters finishes and wear that you will not find with European users.
