A 3D-printed set of AN/M2 12.7 mm machine guns for the 1:72 B-24 bomber replaces the plastic weapons with fine, accurate detail.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is NOT an aircraft model, but a supplementary detail set. It is a 3D-printed set of AN/M2 12.7 mm (.50 cal) aircraft machine guns intended for the defensive positions of the B-24 Liberator bomber in the B-24H version in 1:72 scale. Modern 3D printing allows a much finer and more accurate rendering of the barrels, the cooling and the details than the injection-molded plastic parts from the base kit offer.
The AN/M2 was the aircraft version of the 12.7 mm Browning heavy machine gun, the standard defensive armament of American bombers in the Second World War. The B-24H version differed from earlier Liberators among other things in having a nose turret, so the aircraft had several defensive positions with these guns.
Carefully separate the parts from the print supports, clean up any small marks and glue them with cyanoacrylate (super glue). Degrease the surface before painting. The fine barrels are fragile, so handle them with care.
The set contains only the supplementary machine guns, not the whole model. It is intended for B-24 models in 1:72 scale.
