An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary Bell AH-1 Cobra attack helicopter in the AH-1S variant in the colors of the US Army. The model comes on sprues in light gray plastic together with clear parts for the glazing and a sheet of decals; it is a classic kit to be assembled and painted. The 1:72 scale gives the finished model compact dimensions that suit a display case as well as a smaller diorama.
The AH-1 Cobra was the first production attack helicopter in the world, derived from the proven UH-1 Huey. A narrow fuselage with tandem seating, stub wings with weapon pylons and a traversing turret in the nose made it a feared weapon for close air support. The AH-1S version brought modernized avionics, a flat-plate canopy and the ability to carry anti-tank guided missiles, thanks to which the Cobra served with US Army aviation for many decades.
Part the pieces with a knife and glue them with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Glue the cockpit glazing at the very end, ideally with canopy glue, so that it does not fog. A primer under the paint will help adhesion; the overall dark US Army schemes will show at their best after a spray with an airbrush and gentle highlighting of the panel lines. We recommend finishing the rotor blades and the turret separately.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
