A plastic kit of the Blackburn Skua Mk.II in 1:72 scale from Special Hobby: the British carrier dive bomber and fighter of the Fleet Air Arm.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Blackburn Skua Mk.II carrier aircraft in 1:72 scale from Special Hobby. It is a short-run tool supplemented with resin and photo-etched parts for fine detail. The model has engraved panel lines, a broken-down cockpit and clear parts for the long canopy. The mix of materials and the short-run tooling place the build more with experienced modelers.
The Skua was the first all-metal monoplane of the British Fleet Air Arm and filled the dual role of dive bomber and fighter. It was deployed in the opening phase of the Second World War, among other places over Norway; Skua crews also took part in the attack in which a German ship was sunk. Although more modern types soon replaced it, it is among the historically interesting carrier machines.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent and cut off the casting blocks; glue them with cyanoacrylate. Clean up the plastic parts and join them with liquid cement for plastic. Mask the long canopy and paint with an airbrush after a coat of primer. When sanding resin, protect your airways.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
