SX-Art 1:72 camouflage masks for the Mi-24P

An accessory for modelers in 1:72 scale from the brand SX-Art. It is neither a kit nor decals: these are pre-cut masks with which you create a camouflage scheme with sharp transitions on a model of the Mi-24P attack helicopter, without having to mask it off laboriously with tape. Neither the helicopter model nor the paints are included in the package. Masking a complicated scheme off by hand takes hours and the result tends to be uneven, whereas a pre-cut mask cuts this work down to minutes.

The real subject

The Mi-24 is an attack helicopter that combines firepower with the ability to carry a group of soldiers, which is exceptional in its category. The Mi-24P version differs from the older forms in having a fixed twin-barrel cannon on the right side of the fuselage instead of a movable machine gun turret. The machine served and still serves in dozens of countries, and its camouflage schemes differ from one user to another: from dark European two-color patterns through desert sand to single-color gray finishes.

Use

• spray the model first with the base, that is the lighter color of the scheme
• stick the masks onto a perfectly dry, degreased surface and press the edges down
• spray the second color in thin coats perpendicular to the edge of the mask
• take the mask off while the paint is only dry to the touch
• touch up any small leaks with a brush before you clear coat

The set is intended for modelers who want sharp camouflage transitions without masking off by hand. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
