A fascine in a carrying frame for the Churchill Mk.IV tank in 1:72 scale from the Black Dog model brand represents the bundle of brushwood that British engineer tanks carried. The fascine is shaped to the Dragon kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The resin accessory represents a bundle of brushwood held in a carrying frame of the kind engineer tanks carried above the hull. The vehicle itself is not included. The carrying frame seats on the nose of the hull from the Dragon kit.
A fascine is a firmly tied bundle of rods or brushwood. British engineer units used them in the Second World War to fill anti-tank ditches, canals and soft spots so that further vehicles could get across. The bundle was carried on a tilting frame above the front of the vehicle and was dropped straight into the obstacle. The Churchill tank suited these tasks thanks to its long track outline and its ability to climb a steep gradient. The set captures both the bundle itself and the structure in which it was fastened.
The texture of the brushwood is fine, so handle the abrasive paper carefully and clean up mainly the mating surfaces. Wash the casting and let it dry thoroughly. The wood comes out when you work the base brown tone up with a few dry passes of a lighter color and darken the hollows with a thin wash. Set the frame apart with a metallic shade and light rust so that it separates optically from the bundle. Add a little fine static material between the rods so the bundle does not look like a single piece.
