Injection-molded plastic kit Academy German Tiger I, Early version, 1:72 scale — the most iconic German heavy tank in a small collector's format.
Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary German heavy tank Tiger I in its early production version and in 1:72 scale by Academy. The small format is ideal for a collection and for dioramas — it is quick to build and takes up little space. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Tiger I is one of the most feared and best-known tanks of the Second World War. It was distinguished by heavy armor and a formidable 88 mm gun. Early production vehicles can be told from later ones by several features: rubber-tired road wheels (later replaced by all-steel ones), a tall, drum-shaped commander's cupola with vision ports (later ones had a lower cast cupola with periscopes), a pair of headlights on the front, and, on vehicles for hot climates, a Feifel air filter system at the rear of the hull. Early Tigers also did not yet carry a Zimmerit coating.
In 1:72 scale the parts are small — work with a sharp knife and a thin liquid cement for plastic, and glue the small parts with care. Assemble and paint the tracks and running gear before closing up the hull. Choose the paint scheme to match a specific vehicle: a base Dunkelgelb or a multi-color camouflage. Even a small model benefits from subtle weathering — washes into recesses and dust and mud pigments on the running gear bring the surface to life. Check the period camouflage scheme and markings against your reference before spraying.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
