A canopy mask for the MiG-19S in 1:72 scale from Kovozavody Prostejov takes the place of the lengthy cutting of tape with a knife.
Responsibility details are not available.
This die-cut self-adhesive sheet from Kovozavody Prostejov covers the canopy glazing on a model of the Soviet fighter in 1:72 scale. Thanks to it the frames come out at exactly the right width and the glass stays clean even after several coats of clear. It also helps when you are building a model with the canopy open and the frames are visible from both sides.
The MiG-19S was the first Soviet production aircraft to exceed the speed of sound in level flight. A pair of jet engines, a strongly swept wing and heavy cannon armament made it a feared opponent in the middle of the 1950s. It stayed in service for decades, among others with the Czechoslovak Air Force, and in license versions it flew long after Soviet production ended. The canopy is divided, with a fixed front part and a movable rear one, so tracing it freehand takes a great deal of time.
Uncover each shape only at the moment you apply it, otherwise dust will catch on the adhesive. Free the glazing of fingerprints, seat the shape with tweezers and press the corners down with a blunt tip. Let the clear become tacky between coats and remove the sheet before the surface has fully hardened, as the edge then stays sharp. Once it is off, check the edges against the light; any bleed can be carefully scraped away with a toothpick.
The sheet contains masks only; the model and paints do not come with it.
