This resin detail set from SBS Model in 1:72 scale contains landing gear bays for the American Bell P-39 Airacobra fighter in versions Q and N. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for the base kit, which replaces the simplified plastic bays by a truer resin rendering with richer structure.
The Bell P-39 Airacobra was an American fighter of the Second World War with the engine behind the pilot and a nose gear, used in numbers by the Soviet Air Force among others. Faithfully rendered landing gear bays are one of the conspicuous details on a model with the gear down.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Paint the inside of the bays in the period interior shade and pick out the details with a wash or a dry brush.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
