The splitter plate separates the slow boundary layer of air from the engine intake. The British naval and tactical Phantoms FG.1 and FGR.2 were powered by Rolls-Royce Spey engines, whose wider intakes are characteristic of the silhouette of the aircraft. Finely cast plates sharpen exactly this prominent area.
First wash the parts to remove any mold release agent, carefully cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before painting; resin holds paint better once degreased.
The set contains resin parts only. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
